Studio Filming, Recording & Content Notice

KCX Studios is a creative, content-producing environment.
Filming, photography, audio recording, and livestreaming may take place on-site.

This page explains what that means, how content may be captured and used, and how you can raise any concerns or opt out where applicable.

2. Purpose of this notice

KCX Studios operates as a working music and media space.
As part of normal studio activity, we may record audio-visual content for creative, documentary, or promotional purposes.

This notice is provided to ensure transparency and to set expectations before you attend or book a session.

3. Types of recording that may occur

Depending on the session, event, or area of the studio, recording may include:

  • Audio recordings created during studio sessions

  • Video footage or photography (including behind-the-scenes content)

  • Short-form clips for social media

  • On-site livestreams (where enabled)

Recording may take place in:

  • Studio rooms

  • Recording booths

  • Entrances and communal areas

  • Designated filming or livestream areas

4. Use of recorded content

Where applicable and subject to consent, recorded content may be used by KCX Studios for:

  • Promotion of KCX Studios and its services

  • Website and social media content

  • Studio showreels, trailers, and marketing materials

KCX Studios does not claim ownership of your music, masters, compositions, lyrics, or personal brand.
Creative ownership remains with the artist unless agreed separately in writing.

5. Consent for promotional use

KCX Studios does not rely on implied or automatic consent for promotional use of identifiable content.

Where your image, voice, or identifiable performance may be used for marketing or promotional purposes, explicit consent will be requested separately, for example:

  • During the booking process

  • Via a digital checkbox or release form

  • On-site prior to filming, recording, or livestreaming

6. Opt-out and preferences

If you do not wish to appear in KCX Studios promotional content, you must notify a member of the KCX Studios team before your session begins.

We will take reasonable steps to respect your preference, which may include:

  • Avoiding filming you directly

  • Keeping you out of frame where practicable

Please note:

  • In active filming or livestream areas, incidental capture may occur

  • Clear signage is displayed where filming or livestreaming may take place

7. Livestreaming notice

Some sessions or events may be livestreamed.

By entering a livestream-enabled area, you acknowledge that:

  • You may be visible or audible on a live broadcast

  • Livestreams may be recorded and edited into future promotional content

If you do not wish to appear on a livestream, please inform staff before entering the area.

8. Guests and third parties

If you bring guests to the studio:

  • You are responsible for making them aware that filming or recording may occur

  • Guests who do not wish to appear in promotional content must notify staff in advance

KCX Studios may restrict filming in certain areas to manage preferences and consent.

9. Children and young persons

Individuals under the age of 18 may attend KCX Studios only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Where a minor may be identifiable in recorded or promotional content, consent will be required from the parent or legal guardian before any promotional use.

10. CCTV (separate from content recording)

CCTV operates inside and outside the premises for:

  • Security of people and equipment

  • Insurance purposes

  • Incident investigation

CCTV footage is retained for a maximum of 8 days, unless required for an investigation, insurance claim, or legal matter.

Any personal data collected in connection with filming, recording, or studio attendance is processed in accordance with:
