STUDIO RULES

These Studio Rules apply to all clients, artists, guests, and visitors attending sessions at KCX Studios Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By entering the studio or attending a session, you agree to comply with these rules at all times.

1. Respect the Space

Clients and guests must:

  • Treat the studio, staff, and other clients with respect

  • Keep the studio tidy during and after sessions

  • Follow all instructions given by studio staff

Any behaviour deemed disruptive, aggressive, unsafe, or disrespectful may result in the session being ended immediately without refund.

2. Food & Drink

To protect studio equipment:

  • No drinks are permitted near studio desks, mixing consoles, or electrical equipment

  • Hot food and drink must be disposed of in the designated kitchen bins

  • Clients are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and their guests

Spills, stains, or damage caused by food or drink may be charged to the client.

3. Guests & Attendance

  • Clients must inform the engineer or studio staff of all people attending the session

  • Unauthorised guests may be refused entry

  • The booking client is responsible for the behaviour of all guests

We reserve the right to limit numbers or remove guests at our discretion.

4. Payments & File Release

  • All outstanding payments must be settled before the end of the session

  • No audio files, session files, stems, masters, or deliverables will be released until payment has been received in full

  • This includes unpaid sessions, additional hours, or add-on services

5. Equipment & Damages

Clients are responsible for:

  • Any damage caused to studio equipment or facilities by themselves or their guests

Damage may be charged at:

  • Full repair cost, or

  • Full original retail replacement value where necessary

6. Recording, Photography & CCTV

  • CCTV is in operation throughout the premises for safety and security

  • Sessions may be recorded, photographed, or filmed for studio content purposes

This is governed by our Studio Content Notice and Privacy Policy.

7. Ownership & Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • No audio files, session files, stems, masters, or deliverables will be released for any unpaid or partially unpaid session or service

  • Any work created during an unpaid session, or where a balance remains outstanding, will not be delivered or licensed for use

Until full payment has been received and cleared:

  • Ownership and control of the relevant recordings, session files, and masters will remain with KCX Studios Limited

  • The client is not permitted to use, distribute, upload, perform, publish, or monetise any such material

Once payment is settled in full, ownership and usage rights will be governed by the applicable invoice, agreement, or contract.

Photography and videography captured within the studio for studio purposes remain the property of KCX Studios Limited, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Lost Property

  • Lost property will be held for up to 5 days from the date of the session

  • Items not collected within this period may be disposed of

KCX Studios accepts no responsibility for lost or unattended items.

9. Smoking & Substances

  • Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated outdoor areas

  • Illegal substances are strictly prohibited on the premises

Any breach may result in immediate removal and potential reporting where required by law.

10. Session End & Timekeeping

  • Sessions end at the scheduled time

  • Clients must make arrangements to leave promptly once the session is complete

  • Overtime is not guaranteed and may incur additional charges if approved

11. Right to Refuse or Terminate Sessions

KCX Studios reserves the right to:

  • Refuse entry

  • End sessions early

  • Decline future bookings

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Breach of these rules

  • Non-payment

  • Unsafe behaviour

  • Abuse of staff, clients, or equipment

No refunds will be issued where a session is terminated due to rule breaches.
