When you join the KCX Studios Artist Development Retainer, you pay a fixed monthly fee that secures dedicated development time and creative support. This includes a set number of hours that may be used flexibly across studio sessions, rehearsals, planning, or other artist development activities.

The retainer operates as a subscription service, with a minimum commitment of three months, and auto-renews monthly.

Each month begins with a dedicated development consult where we assess progress, clarify priorities, and shape your next steps. From this session, we create a personalised monthly development plan — then execute it together.

Your plan may include studio recording, rehearsals, live performance preparation, creative direction, industry events, writing camps, or external opportunities — all specifically designed around you, your goals, and where you are in your journey. This ensures every month is intentional, focused, and aligned with your long-term artist development.

Your monthly hours are divided into weekly blocks (for example, a 16-hour package gives you up to 4 hours of booked time per week). This ensures you get consistent access without losing flexibility.

Full payment for the upcoming month is due before the month begins. For example, December hours must be fully paid by the 1st of December. If you agree an instalment plan, all instalments must still be completed before the month’s end.

Instalment plans are an exception and must be agreed in writing before booking. They do not change the requirement that all agreed payments are completed as invoiced. Late or incomplete payments may result in session holds until the retainer balance is fully paid.

Retainer hours are reserved for you during the month purchased. Unused hours do not roll over into future months unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Retainers are pre-paid services. Refunds are not provided once a month’s retainer has started or sessions have been booked. If the retainer needs to be cancelled for exceptional reasons, refunds are evaluated case-by-case and credits may be offered at KCX Studios’ discretion.

Once you have paid for a retainer month, you can book sessions anytime within that month subject to availability. Changes to booking dates should be made at least 48 hours in advance.
